ÆPEX Presents: Something To Hunt
ÆPEX Contemporary Performance is thrilled to present "Something To Hunt" in the Dalton Theater at Kalamazoo College on February 3, 2018, at 8 PM. This concert of solo instrumental and chamber music features works by Michigan natives Adam Schumaker and Cassandra Kaczor, nationally-heralded composers Edgar Barroso and Matthew Evan Taylor, and culminates with Ashley Fure's visceral and intense work for large chamber ensemble, "Something To Hunt".
The concert will showcase the talents of instrumentalists from across the state, such as celebrated Ypsilanti-based pianist Justin Snyder, who will give the world premiere of Schumaker's "Glass Studies". This special event will also be live-streamed and simulcast at venues across Michigan - more information on this to follow.
ÆPEX Contemporary Performance is a concert presenting organization dedicated to sharing the music with rarely performance and underrepresented twentieth and twenty-first century composers from around the world with audiences across Michigan. Founded in December 2015, ÆPEX has presented fifteen concerts and community music events at venues in Detroit, Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, and Kalamazoo. Please visit aepexcontemporary.org, or follow ÆPEX on twitter (@aepexcp) to learn more about our programming.
